I love taking pictures with my digital camera. This is a picture I took in April 08 of the pretty stream that runs through our town. The tree in the foreground is an Eastern redbud (Cercis canadensis).

The Bruiser

This is the cat we adopted from the local shelter last February, when he was 10 months old. He is a big cat, hence the nickname, given by my sister: "bruiser." He is extremely playful and mischievous. He is so much fun to watch. We love him.

Inspiring Blogs

Being new to blogging, I haven't visited a great number -- yet! My favorites to date are posted to the site. Will be adding more, for sure.
Today is my first attempt at a blog. I hope to share thoughts, plans, dreams, ideas with others who share the same interests. I would like very much to learn from and be inspired by others who are more creative than I am.

My blog is named after a song I wrote at least 15 years ago (and copyrighted). When I wrote it, I was working, living in a city, and longing to return to my valley between the mountains:

"Going home, going home,

Someday I'm going home

To the green rolling valley

I once left behind

Where the air's crisp and cool

and the people are kind

And it doesn't take money to

have peace of mind. . . ."

Now I am settled in this little town surrounded by mountain ridges. To me, it is the perfect place to live.
